art deco 2009

a new and unconventional interpretation of the viennese art nouveau and american art deco, alienated and newly invented by the use of contemporary materials, shapes and furniture.

the classic room arrangement of an apartment in an old building was completely maintained; all new functions were integrated into the old structure and organised by using functional built-in furniture (wall developments) in accordance with the living requirements of today.

closed fronts of the built-in furniture received the desired detailedness thanks to an arbitrary joint separation, as well as “foreign” drawers coated and softly upholstered with different kinds of fabrics.
wiry and delicate free-standing pieces of furniture with a highly pronounced structure serve as new ornaments.

a white background, decorated with gold and silver (a clear art nouveau quotation) in several variants, surfaces and shapes, meets with different colourful small-patterned, upholstered fabric surfaces and unicoloured furniture objects in intensive colours.

a subtle play of colours, structures and patterns – elegant and classic, wild and daring, historic and forward-looking.
